We are a team of professionals with a combined entrepreneurial experience of 50 + years in the seafood industry with focus only on chilled and live fish exports. Compared to the frozen seafood industry managing chilled and live fish exports has always been tedious with rigorous industry certifications and processes that one needs to adhere to. As one needs grit and determination to survive in this industry vertical, only a handful of companies have managed to sustain all these years. As a result, export of chilled and live fish only contribute to 2% of the total seafood exports from the country. Creation of this association aims to change this dynamic. Through our combined efforts we plan to increase through our combined efforts the exports to a reasonable 20% of the total seafood exports. This will be achieved through the following action points,
- Training fishermen on better fish handling practices
- Ensuring better handling and storage facilities at the fishing harbour
- Improving fishing methods
- Upgrading legacy infrastructure
