In the last two years India has seen a quantum leap in seafood exports to China.

In a statment released by the customs authority of China, data clearly indicate that in the first nine months of 2019, India’s exports of marine products to China has almost tripled and touched about USD 800 million.

At that speed, we are bound to have crossed USD one billion mark by the end of 2019. Fresh reports are awaited to confirm actual numbers. A Chinese trade delegation had visited India and signed a contract to import marine products worth USD 500 million over the next two years.
